Annual Report

2022 Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau & Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority Annual Report

2022 was a significant year of accomplishments that included landmark announcements, the steady return of meetings and events, and the resumption of overseas travel.

We welcomed large, in-person events back to the Pennsylvania Convention Center (PCC), culminating in a full slate of 19 citywides for the first time since 2019. Philadelphia made headlines in June 2022 as we were selected as a Host City for the world’s biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and WWE® chose Philadelphia as the location for WrestleMania 40 in 2024. Borders reopened and international visitors returned to the city. This momentum set us well on track to reach and surpass pre-pandemic metrics.

This report was once again produced in conjunction with our partners at the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority and represents our combined efforts to promote Philadelphia as a top destination for meetings, conventions, sporting events, and overseas visitors, to produce a positive economic impact for the city and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
