One of golf’s four major men’s championships is coming to the Philadelphia region as part of a massive 2026 sports season.
The 2026 PGA Championship will take place this May 14-17 at the historic Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, featuring more than 150 of the world’s elite golfers.
This is what every golf fan needs to know about the major tournament — from how to catch the action, hotels worth the stay, the golfers expected to play the course, and some of Philadelphia’s best golf-themed attractions.
All the action takes place at Aronimink Golf Club, a historic private golf club dating back to 1896 — making it 20 years older than the Professional Golf Association of America (PGA) itself.
Aronimink has a storied history of hosting premier events:
The four-day tournament runs from Thursday, May 14 to Sunday, May 17. Fans can also attend practice rounds from Monday, May 11 through Wednesday, May 13 to see their favorite players up close in a more-relaxed environment.
As many as 200,000 fans attended last year’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina.

Tickets are available for the 108th PGA Championship through SeatGeek, which serves as the official resell platform for the event.
Tickets prices range dramatically with Monday’s practice round the cheapest and Sunday’s championship round the most expensive.
Looking to not miss any of the action? The Weekly Championship+ Ticket Package (starting at $1,209+) includes all the perks of the daily Championship+ ticket, but for all seven days of golf at Aronimink.
Active-duty military, veterans, reservists, and children aged 15 and under can receive free grounds access.
The club is about 20 miles west from Philadelphia International Airport, Amtrak’s 30th Street Station, and Center City Philadelphia.
Full public transit, parking, and rideshare information will be announced by the PGA Championship on March 31.
While the final field is confirmed closer to the event, fans can expect the best players in the world.

The Wanamaker Trophy makes a true homecoming in 2026.
Its namesake, Rodman Wanamaker, was a Philadelphia department store magnate and philanthropist. Locals will be familiar with the Wanamaker Building in Center City, home to the famous holiday light show and Wanamaker Organ.
In 1916, Wanamaker organized the meeting that led to the founding of the PGA and provided the funding for the first professional tournament.

The trophy — a 27-pound shiny masterpiece standing 28 inches tall — is engraved with the names of every champion. Winners get to keep the trophy for a year before returning it for award to the next champion. They do get to take home a smaller replica.
