2023 Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau & Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority Annual Report

2023 was a year of major milestones that included the hosting of numerous successful events and conventions and expanding into emerging international tourism markets.

  • The PHLCVB was responsible for bringing more than 550,000 attendees to the city through meetings, conventions and sporting events. Attendees spent $261 million locally and generated an economic impact of $380 million for Philadelphia.
  • International visitation continues to recover. In 2023, 1.1 million international visitors spent $579 million in the region, generating an economic impact of $956 million. The PHLCVB expanded from 5 international representation offices in 2022 to 10 in 2023.
  • Hospitality continues to be one of the city’s vital employment sectors, supporting over 74,000 jobs in Philadelphia County.

This report was once again produced in conjunction with our partners at the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority and represents our combined efforts to promote Philadelphia as a top destination for meetings, conventions, sporting events, and international visitors, to produce a positive economic impact for the city and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
