The Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau has three business development divisions that work directly with our Sales team to secure new bookings for Philadelphia. Each division works seamlessly with the PHLCVB Sales and Services team and our meeting planner customers to provide access to local industry experts, speakers, venues and regional attractions.

Philadelphia is an ideal destination for medical and science professionals to meet. The tri-state region (Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware) consistently ranks in the nation’s top 10 biopharma regions, based on NIH funding, venture capital funding, patents, lab space and jobs – and provides a wealth of resources that can be brought into your meeting. PHL Life Sciences and its advisory board of prominent scientists and members of the scientific community, works to provide access and connections to this substantial health care and higher education community of academics, medical and nursing leaders, healthcare experts, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and venture capital contacts for potential partners, sponsors and speakers and panelists to enhance programming.
PHL Diversity leads the charge in diversity, inclusion and equity efforts by convening Philadelphia’s diverse community to promote Philadelphia as an inclusive destination for meetings, events, conventions and visitors. The division, one of the first in the country at a CVB, works with Philadelphia partners to attract diverse conventions to Philadelphia and connects meetings and convention planners with the region’s diverse community to enrich programming. PHL Diversity also encourages social responsibility in the hospitality industry and hosts key programs like the Business Opportunity Luncheon, Hospitality Education Day, the Philadelphia Diversity and Inclusion Conference, and the PHL Diversity Podcast. With a thriving multicultural business community, Philadelphia has rich African American history, vibrant Asian and Hispanic communities and one of the country’s oldest and largest LGBT communities.
