Philadelphia has an excellent selection of hotels to accommodate large groups, all within walking distance of the city’s downtown and the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Read on for a round-up of the largest meeting spaces available in Philadelphia hotels.

Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is the largest hotel in Philadelphia, with 1,408 rooms, and one of the largest convention hotels in the Northeast. With almost 100,000 square feet of renovated meeting space, the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown has 66 venues, complete with Franklin Exhibit Hall and the Grand Ballroom, seating 3,700. The hotel is conveniently connected to the Pennsylvania Convention Center via sky bridge. Also, adjacent to the Reading Terminal Market, the property is located in Center City, in walking distance to numerous attractions, restaurants and off-site venues.

Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown

The Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown has 760 upgraded guestrooms with a contemporary design and panoramic views of Center City. The recently renovated hotel offers more than 60,000 square feet of event space with 24 meeting rooms. The Liberty Ballroom features 20,000 square feet of space and the Horizons rooftop ballroom offers stunning city views of the city. Philadelphia’s second largest hotel is located right off the beautiful Benjamin Franklin Parkway, in walking distance to local attractions, restaurants and the Pennsylvania Convention Center.

Loews Philadelphia Hotel

After a $23 million renovation, the Loews Philadelphia Hotel offers 47,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including three ballrooms. The 580-room property is located right across from the Pennsylvania Convention Center in a historic building, which was America’s first skyscraper, home to the Philadelphia Savings Fund Society. The hotel also features 24 meeting rooms and versatile spaces for in-person as well as hybrid meetings.

Element Philadelphia Hotel and W Philadelphia Hotel

The Element Philadelphia Hotel, with 460 rooms and suites with fully equipped kitchens, is the largest Element Hotel property in the world, and only a short walk away from the Pennsylvania Convention Center in the heart of Philadelphia’s downtown.

The hotel shares over 45,000 square feet of meeting and event space with the 51-story W Philadelphia, with 295 rooms and suites. The W Philadelphia offers a 7,000 square foot outdoor terrace with year-round heated pool and bar and incredible city views. For a truly VIP experience, the W has a secret bar hiding in its lobby bar with space for up to 15 people and a customizable menu.

The Bellevue

For more than a century, The Bellevue has hosted prominent large-scale events including galas and national conventions. The historic landmark offers over 30,000 square feet of lavish event space. Venues include a two-tiered Grand Ballroom – with over 11,000 square feet of space and ornate light fixtures designed by Thomas Edison – the Conservatory, and many other architecturally distinct spaces such as XIX Restaurant with a stained-glass domes and filigree accents, cited by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one the Most Magnificent Ceilings and Domes of Historic Hotels of America.

The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia

Located in Philadelphia’s downtown business district and just three blocks from the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia recently completed a multimillion-dollar renewal project updating the historic landmark to include all new guest rooms and suites, meeting and event space and a refreshed lobby. The hotel features 35 suites with stunning views of City Hall and the Avenue of the Arts. Unique event spaces include the soaring domed lobby with marble steps and columns, along with nine Neoclassical meeting rooms, Grand and Petite Ballrooms, for a total meeting space of over 26,000 square feet.
