May 10, 2021
The many hotel options in the neighborhood include the sophisticated AKA Rittenhouse Square, offering short- and long-term accommodations, The Rittenhouse Hotel, a premier luxury hotel located on the Square, named one of the best hotels in the world in 2020 by Condé Nast Traveler readers, or the elegant Warwick Hotel Rittenhouse, on the National Register of Historic Places.

A few blocks north of Rittenhouse Square, Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center – awarded its first AAA Five Diamond Hotel Designation – provides a luxurious experience on the top floors of Philadelphia’s tallest building, the Comcast Technology Center, with a dazzling sky lobby on the 60th floor (also home to the JG SkyHigh lounge and Jean-Georges Philadelphia restaurant) and an infinity pool and spa on the 57th floor. TIP: Don’t miss Vernick Fish on the ground floor of the hotel, a seafood-centric restaurant from James Beard Award-winning chef Greg Vernick.

Several hotels with history await along Broad Street including the Bellevue Philadelphia, the city’s first luxury hotel, constructed in 1904. The 19th floor of the building houses the XIX Nineteen restaurant and bar, with luxury storefronts on the lower levels. Closer to City Hall, the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia offers 299 luxurious guest rooms and suites, with on-site restaurant Aqimero occupying the lobby in the hotel’s rotunda building, a reproduction of the Pantheon in Rome.

Art lovers should consider a stay at the 439-room Sonesta Hotel Philadelphia, which is home to a rooftop pool, stylish ArtBar, and a colorful 22-story mural on its façade – one of the largest murals in the city. More art awaits at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar, featuring work by local artists throughout the Art Deco building. Just across the street, the Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square adds a bit of French flair to each of its 306 elegantly appointed rooms and suites. The Westin Philadelphia houses 294 rooms adjacent to the Shops at Liberty Place and near other storefronts that line Chestnut Street.
