Convention and group segments generated 1.1 million hotel room nights in Philadelphia, leading to $234 million in group hotel room revenue, a 1.7% year-over-year growth.
585 PHLCVB-booked events brought 788,000 attendees to Philadelphia. These meeting attendees and organizers spent an estimated $388 million in market, and when cycled through our economy, yielded an economic impact of $600 million.
In 2018 (latest data available), Philadelphia welcomed nearly 700,000 overseas visitors – a 7.5% year-over-year increase – setting a record with a growth rate nearly 3x the national average, increasing Philadelphia’s overall market share of overseas visitors to the U.S.
Overseas visitors set modern-day records in two key areas by generating $723 million in direct spending resulting in a total economic impact of $1.2 billion.
