A former lecture hall in the Pennsylvania Convention Center has been transformed into a multipurpose theater with state-of-the-art features.
The 600-seat room was upgraded over the course of seven months and made its grand debut at a ceremony dedicating the theater to former Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter. Nutter served as chairman of the Center’s board of directors from 2003 to 2007 and was instrumental in helping to attract several major conventions to the city including the World Meeting of Families Congress which took place at the Center.
The room boasts a built-in stage, ADA seating locations, advance technology offerings, including a digital 4K cinema projects, 26’ Stewart Firehawk G4 film screen and more. In addition to the theater being available for visiting conventions and corporate meetings, it will also be made available to local community groups for film festivals, movie screenings, musical performances and more.
