Whether it’s a gala dinner for 8,000 or a coffee break in the boardroom, new executive chef Eric Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center’s (PCC) Culinary Services of Aramark SFS, is tasked with providing a first-rate dining experience for convention attendees. A classically trained chef, with accreditations as an American Culinary Federation CEC (certified executive chef) and PCII (professional chef II), Eric previously worked as executive chef for catering at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia’s Circa restaurant, La Campagne in Cherry Hill, NJ and also held the position of executive sous chef at Citizens Bank Park.
Since joining the PCC Culinary Services staff, Eric has led the focus on transforming the Convention Center’s menu for conference and meeting attendees to be more sustainable. He was instrumental in developing a hydroponic herb and vegetable garden that will help to provide fresh produce throughout the year. Recent events catered under his management include the Pittcon conference, as well as the Philadelphia Flower Show and The Auto Show.
“Our team is fully prepared to ensure that the needs of all our convention attendees are met and exceeded,” said Hall. “I am extremely confident in the quality of our meals and our ability to enhance the experience of anyone coming to the Convention Center for a meeting or convention.”
Eric has worked at refining his craft for the past 25 years. As executive chef at La Campagne in Cherry Hill, NJ, his modern take on Provençale cuisine earned him rave reviews and awards, and a 26 out of 30 food rating from Zagat. His culinary career bloomed during his tenure as executive chef at Philadelphia’s Circa, where he was named “Rising Star Chef” by City Paper, and earned a DiRoNA (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) award, as well as being rated one of the city’s top restaurants by Zagat.
He has appeared on the Food Network’s “Ready, Set, Cook” and Discovery Channel’s “Home Matters,” in addition to several other local and national television appearances.
