UnConventional Gift shop Adds Local Charm to Pennsylvania Convention Center

Tucked into the corner of 12th and Market streets at the edge of the landmark Philadelphia Marriott Downtown is Rose 4 U Florist. The floral shop is the go-to location for hotel guests, deliveries across the city and for meeting planners, exhibitors and attendees at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. In June, shop owner Ho “Paul” Choi took his talents further, opening UnConventional Gifts, a new gift shop on the second floor of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Open during conventions, special events and meetings at the center, the shop offers souvenirs and mementos of Philadelphia so that attendees don’t have far to go when looking to take a piece of Philadelphia back home.

“Part of giving our customers the finest experience when they come to our Convention Center is working with first-class businesspeople in Philadelphia,” said the Center’s President and CEO Ahmeenah Young.

The shop opened in June for the Million Dollar Round Table conference which brought about 7,700 visitors to the city and generated an economic impact of about $12 million for the Philadelphia region.

“I am looking forward to the international shows and groups,” Choi said. “These are the best shows for this store. They want more souvenirs so they have something to take home from Philadelphia.”

In addition to souvenirs, the shop is stocked with convenience supplies and even offers Choi’s signature floral arrangements so that exhibitors can add flowers and plants to their booth and showcase décor.
