Philadelphia will again be in the thick of March Madness when the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament returns to the Wells Fargo Center from March 25 to 27. LaSalle University and Comcast-Spectacor are hosting the East Regional, the first time that the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 Rounds have been in Philadelphia since 2001.
Philadelphia has a storied history with the Men’s Basketball Tournament, having hosted the event 27 times since 1939, second most of any U.S. city. This will also mark the 23rd NCAA Championship event hosted in Philadelphia since 2000. The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championships return to Lincoln Financial Field and Talen Energy Stadium, respectively, in May.
