Temple University Hospital is the 583-bed flagship facility of Temple University Health System (TUHS), serving as the chief clinical training site of Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM), as well as the leading safety-net provider in Pennsylvania – serving the highest number of inpatients covered by Medicaid in the Commonwealth – as part of its commitment to serving the healthcare needs of the comm ... unity. Its physicians and staff provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services to patients from the Philadelphia region and beyond – including highly specialized, tertiary- and quaternary-care services in Cardiovascular Disease; Cancer; Digestive Diseases; Neurosciences; Orthopaedics; Pulmonary; Transplantation; Bone Marrow Transplant; and Bariatric Surgery. TUH is the only Level-I Trauma Center in Philadelphia with both a trauma and adult burn unit. Among TUH’s many recognitions are the following: Named by The Joint Commission as one of the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures (only 44 hospitals nationwide, and four in Pennsylvania, achieved this level of recognition).
