Amber Hikes, Director of LGBT Affairs for the City of Philadelphia, joins us to discuss Philadelphia’s Office of LGBT Affairs. A vocal supporter of, and champion for, Philadelphia’s LGBTQ community, Amber covers the recent programs her office has created and implemented — including last month’s first-ever LGBTQ State of the Union — the groundbreaking “More Color, More Pride” campaign and Philadelphia Pride Month celebrations taking place in June. With the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce Convention coming to Philadelphia later this summer, Amber also touches on the planning for the convention.
Gregory Branch, former Supervisory Special Agent, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), joins the PHL Diversity podcast to give us an inside look at life with the FBI, the path he took to secure this dream job and how his position allowed him to have a hand in the Bureau’s diverse makeup. A Camden native formerly based out of the Bureau’s Philadelphia office, Gregory helped coordinate the FBI’s Special Agent recruitment and assisted in processing 10,000 agent applications annually. Dr. Jeremy Jordan, Associate Dean and Associate Professor with Temple University School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management (STHM), drops by the PHL Diversity podcast to chat about his position at the helm of STHM, as well as his extensive background in sport industry research. Rob Buscher, Festival Director for Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival (PAAFF) and Area Chapter President for Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), sits in on the PHL Diversity podcast to discuss his work with both JACL, which is hosting its annual convention in Philadelphia this July, and PAAFF.
