• SUMMER: The summer months in Philadelphia can get hot, but there are plenty of cool things to do. Philadelphia’s outdoor cafes will he hopping, and there are festivals and events every week, including Welcome America, a week-long festival around July 4th that celebrates the nation’s birthday in its birthplace.
• FALL: Philadelphia’s numerous parks make it a great place to see the leaves turn and admire the beautiful colors of autumn foliage. As the air starts to turn crisp, keep a look out for the area’s universities to start buzzing, plus enjoy more outdoor activities, from the city’s marathon to a blockbuster Thanksgiving Day Parade.
• WINTER: Though Philadelphia does see some snow, winter is still mild enough to enjoy a cozy visit. Many of the city’s museums feature special exhibitions during the cooler months, and there is no better place to do your holiday shopping than in the city where clothing and shoe purchases are tax-free! Don’t miss the spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display at Penn’s Landing on the Delaware River.
