“We are thrilled to kick off the Premier League’s first-ever U.S. Summer Series at Lincoln Financial Field,” said Don Smolenski, Philadelphia Eagles President. “Hosting the Summer Series will shine an international spotlight on Lincoln Financial Field, the City of Philadelphia, and our passionate sports community. This is another great opportunity for us to help showcase world-class soccer in front of a global audience as we continue to build excitement for World Cup 2026 in Philadelphia.”
“It is an honor to be the first city to host the inaugural Premier League Summer Series in the U.S.,” said Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney. “I know we’ll give a strong showing here in Philadelphia thanks to our incredibly passionate and devoted local soccer community. We are establishing ourselves as a top soccer city globally and are thankful for the tremendous leadership of the Philadelphia Eagles and their world-class venue in Lincoln Financial Field.”
For the first time, U.S.-based fans will have the opportunity to watch a world-class lineup of Premier League players and managers in action. The tournament will be comprised of high-profile matches and preseason training camps, and will be supported by a range of events for fans and local community groups.
“Philadelphia proved its capabilities as a host city once again with last year’s hugely successful Premier League Mornings Live at Dilworth Park, and we now look forward to hosting their clubs and fans this July,” said Gregg Caren, president and CEO of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Philadelphia continues to be an incredibly attractive destination for soccer events, thanks to our renowned venues, exceptional hospitality industry, engaged soccer community, and willing partners like the City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Eagles.”
The Summer Series is part of the League’s ongoing commitment to its U.S.-based fans. In addition to the tournament, the League will work closely with a range of grassroots and community organizations in Philadelphia to create a program of community and youth soccer initiatives.
“A key goal in hosting FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Philadelphia is to create a legacy for future generations of soccer players and fans – and that work must begin now,” said Meg Kane, Host City Executive, Philadelphia Soccer 2026. “With elite talent from across the globe showcased, the Premier League Summer Series adds to the drumbeat of major soccer events driving regional excitement ahead of 2026. For us, every soccer event Philadelphia can host in the next three years serves to better prepare us to host the world for FIFA World Cup. No doubt this will be a weekend to remember, and we are fortunate to have the Philadelphia Eagles and FMC as committed partners in making a lasting, material impact on our City and region through soccer.”
The tournament builds on the success of the eight Premier League Mornings Live fan festival events that have been hosted in multiple U.S. cities since 2018. These events have seen more than 60,000 fans attend live match screenings in iconic locations, coming together to share their passion for the competition. This is in addition to the millions of U.S. viewers who watch week in and week out on television.
“FMC is proud to be the presenting sponsor and Official Turf Care Provider of the English Premier League Summer Series at Lincoln Financial Field,” said Mark Douglas, FMC president and chief executive officer. “Soccer’s popularity continues to grow in the U.S., especially among young adults. We are excited to partner with the Philadelphia Eagles to bring leading football clubs from England to our hometown this summer. We also look forward to supporting the Eagles’ outstanding Grounds crew to ensure the pitch is in great shape for a weekend of professional football action.”
The Premier League Summer Series will also visit Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA (Wednesday, July 26); Exploria Stadium in Orlando, FL (Wednesday, July 26); Red Bull Arena in Harrison, NJ (Friday, July 28); and FedEx Field in Landover, MD (Sunday, July 30).
Since opening in August 2003, Lincoln Financial Field has played host to 26 soccer matches, which have included some of the world’s most prestigious soccer clubs, such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, the United States men’s and women’s national teams, and more. In June 2022, Lincoln Financial Field was selected as a FIFA World Cup 2026 host venue, becoming one of 16 stadiums across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
